What are your ride options?

  • 1 Hour Rides: Reservations are 1.5 hours with up to 1 hour on the water. The cost is $40 for a single kayak, $50 for a double kayak ($25/person), or $60 for a triple kayak ($20/person) plus taxes and fees. One hour reservations are typically the best option for beginner kayakers and families with small children (4-8 years old).
  • 2 Hours Rides: Reservations are 2.5 hours with up to 2 hours on the water. The cost is $70 for a single kayak, $80 for a double kayak ($40/person), or $90 for a triple kayak ($30/person) plus taxes and fees. Two hour reservations are typically a good option for adults and children (9+) who have previous experience kayaking.

Where do these rides start and end? Paddling area?

This ride starts and ends at the Scioto Audubon Metro Park Boat Ramp. Please follow our directions and parking instructions for this location. When you arrive, we will supply you with all of the equipment you will need. Then, you will be able to paddle within the approximately 2 mile long area marked on the map. When you are finished, you will paddle back to the location where you started your ride. This ride does not require being transported by a bus/shuttle to another location.

Do you require advance reservations?

Yes, that way we can know you are coming and prepare equipment for you. It also allows us to notify you if we need to cancel your time slot due to weather/river conditions or for other reasons. Visit our booking page to make a reservation.

Why is the "time on the water" shorter than the reservation?

When you arrive, we will sign you in, help you set up your equipment, explain instructions, and help you launch your kayaks. That process usually takes about 15min. When you arrive back at our launch location, you will exit your kayak and return the equipment. The full reservation takes about 30 minutes longer than the time you will spend paddling on the water.

Does the park have bathrooms? Shelters? Tables?

Yes, this map of the park shows where bathrooms, shelters, and tables are located. On weekdays, we recommend the bathroom in the park office, which is about a 5 minute walk from our location. On weekends, we recommend the bathroom near the bocce courts, which is about a 10 minute walk from our location.

Is there food available near the park?

Yes, just outside the park there are hundreds of great restaurants in the Brewery District, German Village, and downtown Columbus.
