Take a scenic ride along Kiwanis Riverway Park, through Downtown Dublin, and under the Bridge Street and Dublin Link bridges. When you finish your trip, you'll be just steps away from the many dining, shopping, and entertainment options in the Historic Dublin and Bridge Park area. Rentals are 1 hour with about 45 minutes on the water. Each kayak can hold 1-2 adults or 2 adults and a small child. Ages 4+. See our Rentals Q&A for more details.
Maximum riders and weight per kayak
Each kayak can hold 1-2 riders or 2 riders and a small child weighing less than 50lbs. This ride has a combined max weight of 350lbs per kayak. Riders over 250lbs must ride alone.Kayaks with less weight take on less water and are easier to paddle. If possible, we recommend 1 rider per kayak rather than 2 or 3.
Kayaking in Sept/Oct and lower temperatures
Kayaking in late September and October is especially fun because of the clear skies and fall colors, but they require riders to come prepared for a cooler air and water. We typically proceed with rentals if the air and water temperatures are at least 55 degrees. Riders will need to walk into one foot deep water to get in/out of the kayak (you are welcome to bring waterproof boots if you have them). The kayaks will also take on some water while you are paddling and your seat will likely get wet--especially if the weight of the riders is over 250lbs (see above).
We use the USGS website to monitor the Scioto River levels (height and streamflow). We find a good range for this ride is 3.5-4.5 ft and 100-600 ft³/s. You can do this ride outside of that range, but keep in mind that it may be more difficult to paddle around (if the river is high) or your kayak may get stuck in places (if the river is low). We will likely cancel reservations if the river is higher than 5 ft or 900 ft³/s. If you (or we) cancel your reservation because of the river levels we'll be glad to issue you a full refund.

Rentals start and finish at the Dublin Spring Park which is on the west side of the Scioto River beneath the 161/Bridge St. Bridge. NOTE: THIS LOCATION CAN BE TRICKY TO FIND. We recommend that you park in the parking garage that is connected to the Dublin Library (75 N High St, Dublin, OH 43017) then walk to Dublin Spring Park (takes about 5 min) by following the map and directions below.
- Map: See below.
- Directions:West North Street is on the south side of the Dublin Library. Walk east (toward the river) on West North Street. Cross over North High Street. After you pass COhatch on your right, there is a Y in the road. DO TAKE THE RIGHT (SOUTH) BRANCH toward the old, stone bridge (161/Bridge St.). DO NOT TAKE THE LEFT (NORTH) BRANCH toward the new, pedestrian bridge (Link). Walk south on N. Riverview St. about 500ft until it dead ends into the side of the 161/Bridge St. Bridge. At the dead end, take the wood staircase on your left down to the river and you will see us there.
